Artist's Description

The Southern view of the Picuris Mountains during a welcomed winter storm. Image was captured as I stood on the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, 600 feet above the Rio Grande river, of Taos, New Mexico. The clouds added a dramatic element to the already magnificent vista. A classic example of New Mexico's winter landscape.
Rio Grande del Norte National Monument of New Mexico.
Photographers started enhancing their images in the dark room in order to create an image more closely resembling what their minds eye saw. Photography has passed through the enhancement portal into the world of special effects, known as digital art. So somewhere in there exist the balance, where the image is a true representation of the real visual perception of everyone who views it, combined with its obscure or cryptic essence as viewed and reproduced by an artist.

About Britt Runyon

Britt Runyon

I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory.
