The month of December, Christmas and New Years went by unnoticed. Escaping the Winter temps of Northern New Mexico and heading South to Big Bend National Park and the Chihuahua Desert seemed a worthy endeavor, both for warmer temperatures and the opportunity to capture a few (or several hundred) new images.
Joined by CJ, we explored the back country on 2 wheels and 2 feet. Images to come.
Thanks for looking.

After CJ & I spent the Winter of 2011-2012 touring Central America on my 1992 R 100 GS BMW motorcycle, we find ourselves into full Spring in Embudo, New Mexico, having missed Winter and all the snow that it brings. We've been hauling straw & horse manure to be used in our orchard & gardening endeavors. The early signs of fruits & vegetables are positive.
I just wanted to post the image of the Sharp-shinned Hawk to make an attempt to coax some of you out from behind your screen.
Things are alive up here. While working outside yesterday I photographed a beautiful Bull Snake & this hawk. I watched an Osprey hoover, kite & dive into the Rio Grande River attempting to snag a feast, while I stood in the orchard.
The day before, while on the river, I floated by a Night Heron, a Great Blue Heron & got buzzed by an Osprey, perhaps the same one.
Get out & enjoy this beautiful New Mexico Spring.

Tomorrow I headed South to Santa Fe to shoot the Recycle Santa Fe Art Festival. It's in cooperation with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful and their recycling efforts surrounding America Recycles Day (November 15th) and New Mexico Recycling Awareness Month, Recycle Santa Fe is one of the hippest, eco-conscious art markets and juried art events of its time. Hope to see you there.
